Car painting spray is not a recommended method on car painting. But, it is an alternative way to save money. Car spray painting is good in repairing small scratches or repainting small areas.

The best way to paint your car is to car spray paint it yourself, if you don’t want to spend money on professional pay. Patience and attention to detail is the key to do it effectively.

Car painting spray techniques:

  • keep the gun six to eight inches from the panel
  • apply the car paint spray
  • do not heavy spray or overspray at the other end
  • move spray gun in constant speed in a straight line with a smooth flowing motion
  • test the paint color prior to car spray paint, using paper or small metal
  • avoid dripping and pooling while spraying the car
  • use even strokes

Here are steps to car paint spray on your own

  • Visit a supply store and buy materials needed for car paint spray. Materials include: sandpaper, spray gun, and desired color.
  • Prepare your working area. Doing it outside is ok, but garage is the ideal place.
  • Sand down your car with sandpaper and make it sure that there are no scratches or imperfections left.
  • Cover the areas you don’t want to car paint spray, using plastic cover and masking tape.
  • Make it smooth before spraying the primer in an even coat.
  • After the base coat, you can now car spray paint with the color you want. You have to be very careful this time, remember the car painting spray techniques above when spraying your car. Professional car painter does not worry about uneven painting because they know how to fix it.

Spray paint twice and allow it to dry for a few days. Put coat of wax when it is dry.
